Walker, noted as the first self-made American female millionaire, anchors the examination of her life and achievements as the founder of a manufacturing company of hair care products, creator of beauty schools and salons, philanthropist, activist for racial and economic justice, and role model for beauty culturists and entrepreneurs to the present day.
