Man’s best friend is taking over the National Museum of the Marine Corps on
Saturday, September 16, 2017. The annual Dog Days of Summer event will feature a number of activities based on the vital role dogs play in the Marine Corps as well as some activities just for fun.

Bring the kids! There will be crafts, a gallery scavenger hunt--and the opportunity to meet the official mascot of the Corps, Chesty the bulldog.
And we will have a Bulldog Kissing both (hosted by Rebound Bulldog Rescue).

Inside the Museum, Marine Capt Jason A. Haag, USMC (Ret) and his service dog, Axel will be speaking about his life with Axel and the benefits of a service dogs for veterans.

Outside, on the grounds of the Museum, visitors will have a chance to see working dogs in action and meet many different animal rescue groups.

MCB Quantico MP Working Dogs
Virginia German Shepherd Rescue
Lab Rescue of the LRCP (Potomac)
Semper K9
Dogs on Deployment
Leashes of Valor
Stafford Police will be demonstrating their Disaster Animal Rescue Trailer
Food and drinks will be available

Dogs are welcome on the grounds of Museum. Please keep dogs on a leash and use "doggie" relief area near the flag pole.

Entrance to the Museum and parking are always FREE!
